Juanita is on a mission as a Cancer Exercise Specialist  because of her own personal experience as a cancer patient.  In round 1 of her battle, through her faith in God, she found exercise to be good medicine to help her become cancer free as part of the HFHS ExCITE Program.  She exercised in the program after diagnosis, while enduring chemotherapy, after surgery, and during abbreviated radiation.  The following year, Juanita secured her Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor certifications to earn while exercising and helping others to be healthy. 

Now in round 2, Juanita has secured her Cancer Exercise Specialist certification, along with qualifications in Exercise Therapy, Zumba Basic & Gold, Mat Pilates, and Silver Sneakers, while completing her Master's Degree in Wayne State University's Exercise & Sports Science Program.  She is now offering Personal Training and Group Fitness for Cancer Patients and Survivors, and others with health or conditioning challenges.
